Jacaranda Schools Competition

Showcase Your School at the Goodna Jacaranda Festival

The Goodna Jacaranda Festival Schools Program is a unique opportunity for local schools to be part of one of South East Queensland’s most loved community celebrations.

Every year, thousands of visitors attend the festival, creating an incredible platform for schools to showcase the talent, creativity and achievements of their students. Whether through performances, art displays, cultural presentations, STEM projects, community initiatives or student-led activities, the Schools Program provides a stage for young people to shine.

Participating schools gain valuable opportunities to:

  • Celebrate student achievement and creativity.
  • Build confidence through public performances and presentations.
  • Strengthen connections with families and the wider community.
  • Promote school programs, values and successes.
  • Foster school pride and student engagement.
  • Create memorable learning experiences beyond the classroom.

Research consistently shows that participation in community events, arts programs and public showcases helps improve student engagement, confidence, teamwork and a sense of belonging. Community-based learning experiences also provide students with authentic opportunities to develop communication, leadership and problem-solving skills while connecting classroom learning with the real world.

The Jacaranda Festival has been bringing communities together for decades, and our Schools Program continues that tradition by celebrating the next generation of local leaders, artists, performers and innovators. It is an opportunity for students to represent their school, share their talents, and experience the excitement of being part of a major community event.

Whether your school is participating for the first time or returning as a valued part of the festival family, we invite you to join us in creating an unforgettable experience for students, teachers, families and the broader community.
